About the Role
As an Associate Attorney, you’ll represent clients in general liability defense matters while gaining valuable experience managing litigation from initial investigation through resolution.
You’ll work with experienced attorneys on a variety of civil litigation matters and play an active role in developing case strategies, conducting discovery, and preparing cases for resolution or trial.
Key Responsibilities
Handle general liability defense and related civil litigation matters.
Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
Manage written discovery, document review, and case investigation.
Take and defend depositions as appropriate to experience.
Assist with case evaluations and litigation strategy.
Participate in mediations, settlement negotiations, hearings, and trial preparation.
Communicate with clients regarding case developments and litigation strategy.
Collaborate with partners, senior attorneys, and legal support staff.
Maintain accurate case documentation and meet applicable deadlines.
Qualifications
Required
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
Active Georgia Bar membership.
Litigation experience, preferably in general liability defense.
Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines.
Interest in developing a long-term career in civil litigation defense.
Preferred
Approximately 2–4 years of litigation experience.
Prior insurance defense or general liability defense experience.
Experience handling discovery, depositions, and motion practice.
Familiarity with Georgia state and federal court procedures.
Attorneys with less than two years of experience may be considered depending on their qualifications and relevant litigation background.
Compensation
Annual Salary: $120,000–$165,000+
Compensation will be based on experience, qualifications, and the responsibilities of the position.
