About the Opportunity
Argo Recruiting client is seeking a Senior Federal Construction Administrator to support complex federal construction projects and contract administration efforts. This role is critical in maintaining contractual compliance, preserving claims documentation, and supporting project teams through sophisticated federal construction processes.
This position works closely with project managers, subcontractors, consultants, and outside counsel to ensure project records, notices, and contractual documentation are properly maintained throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Draft responses to government cure notices and show cause notices, including analysis of contributing project actions or inactions
Issue cure notices and default-related correspondence to subcontractors
Manage change order administration from initiation through approval, including:
Tracking and logging
Backup documentation assembly
Internal routing and approvals
Administer notice letters related to:
Changes
Suspension of Work
Differing Site Conditions
Government Delays
Maintain Procore project documentation and controls, including:
RFI logs
Submittal logs
Correspondence logs
Daily report compliance
Support subcontract administration including:
Flow-down provisions
Exhibits
Modifications
Schedules of values
Build and maintain contemporaneous project records supporting REAs and claims development
Support project management teams with contract interpretation questions
Coordinate complex legal and contractual issues with retained outside counsel and consultants
Preferred Qualifications
8–15 years of federal construction contracts experience on the prime contractor side
Strong working knowledge of:
FAR Parts 13, 14, 15, 31, 36, 43, and 49
VAAR
DFARS
Procore experience required:
Microsoft Project and Bluebeam strongly preferred
Experience with VA, USACE, or NAVFAC projects strongly preferred
Former government-side experience such as:
Contracting Officer (KO)
Contracting Officer Representative (COR)
Resident Engineer is highly valued
Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent federal construction experience will be considered
Exceptional organization, documentation, and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple active federal construction projects simultaneously
